Description

The Douglas Fir grows to a height of 40–70′ and a spread of 12–20′ at maturity.

This tree grows at a medium rate, with height increases of 13–24″ per year.

Full sun and partial shade are best for this tree, meaning it prefers a minimum of four hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight each day.

The Douglas Fir prefers acidic or neutral soil that is well-drained, thought it can also be found in its native habitat of rocky mountain slopes. It is sensitive to drought.
